Consider the following examples of Wabi: a Japanese garden with a wandering walkway that follows the lay of the land, serving a meal using local specialties rather than costly imported ingredients, a rustic teacup that fits ones hand perfectly and a simple bamboo mat to cover the floor; and of Sabi: a single flower in a simple vase, a painting of a mountain with a single figure ascending it, a boat on a vast expanse of water, and a solo singer singing songs of unrequited love. Try to come up with an example of something you own, have seen, or experienced that illustrates these concepts. Do your best and do not be discouraged.
